MUST Try Authentic Sarawak Laksa in Sibu

Laksa is probably one of the must eat dishes when you visit Malaysia. However, the laksa serves in West Malaysia is slightly different as compared to how it is served in Sarawak. Sarawak laksa is served with a curry base soup and paired with a special sambal and lime.

You can get laksa in almost any city in Sarawak. We dropped by this place in Sibu where the locals recommended us to try the laksa here. The place is called Aloha Corner and the laksa shop is operating off a stall located inside the cafe. This place is normally packed with locals eating breakfast and you may have to wait for a while to get an empty table.

Although there were a lot of people ordering, the food did arrive quite fast considering the amount of people. When the dish came, you could smell the aromatic smell coming out from the curry soup. As I am fan of eating spicy stuff, you must pair the laksa with the sambal that comes with it. There wasn’t enough sambal so I had to get more.

Besides that, you mustn’t forget to squeeze the lime inside the sambal. Some people prefer to squeeze it inside the laksa, while some prefer to squeeze it inside the sambal. I prefer it separated from the laksa and inside the sambal instead as I don’t want the lime taste to overpower the original taste of the laksa.

They use fresh ingredients to ensure that the taste of the laksa is not compromised. In terms of the taste, the laksa served here is definitely one of the few places that serves a good bowl of laksa. Some places serve laksa without much taste in the soup but this place definitely managed to capture all that flavor inside a bowl.

If you are dropping by, be prepare to find parking as sometimes there is no place to park due to a lot of people. However, it’s worth it because your trip to Sibu won’t be completed without visiting this place for its delicious bowl of laksa.
