Thai Cuisine is nothing unfamiliar to most of us, but where can you actually find authentic Thai food near you? Look no further because here is Nirawan9 Royal Thai Cuisine! An authentic Thai food restaurant in Kuching that should be your next stop for a dining experience! It is a restaurant that truly captures the aromatic and vibrant colours of Thai cuisine!
Located at Jalan Tabuan in Kuching, Nirawan9 is named after a Thai Lady, Nirawan, who is the wife of the owner, whereas the number “9” means good luck in Thailand. In the search of authentic Thai food, Nirawan9 was established to not only ease Nirawan’s home sickness (after settling in Kuching) for authentic Thai food, but also to share the deliciousness of Thai food with the people of Kuching! Another interesting information about this restaurant is that they grow their own vegetables for their dishes and ALL their dishes contains zero MSG.
Speaking of deliciousness, look at all those foods! Presentation wise, it already looks appetizing!
Khao Phad Sapparod (Pineapple Fried Rice)
First on the menu, we have the Pineapple Fried Rice (Khao Phad Sapparod). If you are a big fan of pineapple fried rice, you need to try this one! A savoury flavour of the rice dish as it is served in the pineapple itself, complimented by cashews and prawns too. Unlike most pineapple fried rice, the rice is yellow as it is extracted from the pineapples!
Tomyum Nam Khon Kung (Tomyum Creamy Prawn Soup)
Rejoice tom yum fanatics! Nirawan9 serves Tomyum Creamy Prawn Soup. The taste of sourness and spiciness was really to my liking! The broth is generously laden with fragrance of spices and herbs. It is definitely a dish not to miss out on!
Pla Neng Ma Naw (Steam Fish in Lime Sauce)
Now for a fish dish. This dish, Steam Fish in Lime Sauce, consists of garlic and chillies to create a distinctive flavour. This is a new dish for me, and I have to say it was a delightful experience. For me, the fish in its tangy broth is best eaten with a bowl of rice so that the sourness is not too overpowering.
Som Tum Thai (Thai Papaya Salad)
Lastly, we have the Thai Papaya Salad. This particular dish has a range of flavours of fresh, sour and a hint of sweetness in it. Som Tum Thai is a salad with shredded unripe papaya that gives it a crunchy texture. It is also served with a couple of fried salmon too!
Here are some of the other dishes we’ve tried:
Deep Fried Fish Tom Yum [New Dish!]
Osuan (Fried Oyster Omelette)
Phad Kana (Stir-Fry Kalian with Thai Oyster Sauce)
Here are some of the drinks!
From the left starting off with Thai Milk Green Tea, Butterfly Pea (Nam An Chan), Thai Ice Lemon Tea and Thai Milk Tea.
All in all, Nirawan9 is definitely a place to visit again! Especially with friends and family for a simple gathering or celebration! Enjoy the delectable food along with the beautiful decorations imported from Thailand too!
So, what are you waiting for? Come and enjoy Nirawan’s mouth-watering authentic Thai cuisine!
