Tiktok is really something else, wouldn’t you agree? The app literally snowballed into the MOST popular app, globally in 2019 and 2020. I honestly don’t see any signs of it slowing down anytime. With content being created every day, there’s this one trend that I love to follow! The simple, easy to follow food recipe! *shrieks in excitement* Without further ado, I’m here to share with you Tiktok VIRAL recipes you need to try ASAP!!
1. The Savoury Oat
I, for once have been fooled into thinking that I should just eat my oat with fruits, yogurt and all the healthy stuff. When I first saw this recipe passing my FYP, I immediately jumped out of bed to try them. It is surprisingly SO, SO good! It’s somehow like eating porridge, but it has a crisp texture to it. Savory Oat Recipe
- 40g Rolled Oat
- ⅓ Cube Chicken/Vegetable Stock
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Cup Water

Directions
- Boil the rolled oats
- While waiting for the oats to boil, break an egg in a small bowl and microwave for 1 minute (If you don’t have a microwave, you can just pan-fry your egg)
- Top the oats with anything you desire – example fried shallots, scallion, chili flakes and 2 teaspoon sesame oil
2. The Doraemon Dorayaki
Next is the famous Doraemon Dorayaki! You cannot tell me you don’t know Doraemon’s favorite food. Fun fact, the reason why Doraemon really loves Dorayaki is because his first girlfriend gifted Dorayaki to him as a present. That’s so cute! Anyways, there is no question on how delicious this dish is and surprisingly so easy to make.
Doraemon Dorayaki Recipe
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup of Castor sugar
- 1 spoon of Condensed Milk
- A pinch of salt
- One spoon of Vanilla Essence
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 spoon of Baking Powder
Directions
- Crack two eggs into a bowl
- Add ¼ cup of Castor sugar
- 1 spoon of Condensed milk
- Add a pinch of salt, then add 1 spoon of Vanilla essence
- Whisk it well, then add in one cup of flour, followed by 1 spoon of Baking powder
- Sift them as you add it to the mixture, and continue to whisk it
- Add some water to and mix it again, the consistency of the batter should be a little watery
- Lightly oil your pan, pour a scoop of the batter into the pan and make a small pancake (about 3 to 4 inches in diameter).
- Flip the pancake when it starts to bubble on top
- Repeat until batter is finish
- Add your desired fillings – Chocolate, Strawberry, basically anything, and enjoy!

3. Crab Rangoon
Next, we have the Crab Rangoon! I have never made this, but I have tried the ones my cousin made for me, and it was so good!! Should you try this recipe? DEFINITELY YES! Plus, the ingredients are super simple and the recipe is easy to follow.
Crab Rangoon Recipe
- 2 pieces Green Onion
- 12 pieces of Crab Stick
- 150gm Cream Cheese
- One teaspoon Sesame Oil
- One teaspoon White Pepper
- Wonton Sheets
Directions
- Mix all the crab sticks, cream cheese, green onion into one bowl, and add sesame oil and white pepper. Mix it well
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the mixture onto your wonton sheet
- Dab some water on the edges of the wonton sheet and fold two ends of the wrapper together. Pinch it to seal tight and make sure there is no open space or leakage
- Heat up your oil in your frying pan
- Once it’s hot enough, drop them rangoons in and wait till it golden coloured
- You can enjoy it with some Thai sauce or any preferred sauce

4. Potato Cheese Bread
Fourth is the Potato Cheese Bread! Okay, some may think this one is a little complex, but once you understand how to do it, it’s not that hard! I promise it’s worth a try. If you’re a visual learner like me, watching the video might help.
Potato Cheese Bread Recipe
- 100gm all purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ tablespoon milk
- 2 tablespoon olive oil/butter
- 2 tablespoon margarine
- Dried parsley
- 2 potatoes
Directions
- Mix the flour, salt, milk and olive oil/butter and set aside for 30 minutes
- While waiting, mix 2 tablespoon of margarine with dried parsley and put aside
- Now, move on to the potatoes. Boil your cleaned and nicely sliced potatoes
- Once done, mash it thoroughly, add salt, white pepper, mayonnaise, cornstarch and mix them well
- Take your dough, slice it into two and flatten it evenly with a rolling pin
- Spread mozzarella cheese evenly all over the flatten dough
- Then, add your mashed potato on top of your mozzarella cheese
- Top it off again with mozzarella cheese as you did just now
- Lastly, seal your dough!
- Flatten your dough again with a rolling pin
- Spread the margarine that your prep earlier on the bread and place it in a hot pan
- Flip, and repeat until done
- Lastly, ENJOY!

5. Fluffy Japanese Souffle Pancake
Last but not least, we got the Fluffy Japanese Souffle Pancake! This might be the trickiest one on the list, but it’s nevertheless worth a try.
Ingredients
- 3 Egg Yolk
- 3 ½ tablespoon fresh milk
- Three tablespoon flour
- 3 White egg
- 2 tablespoon sugar
Directions
- Add 3 egg yolk into a mixing bowl, add three ½ tablespoon fresh milk and mix
- Sift 3 tablespoon flour into the mixture and whisk thoroughly
- On another side, whisk the egg white you have, add 2 tablespoon sugar
- Whip it until it gets stiff peak
- Mix it with your first mixture well, add them all in and mix well from bottom to top
- **Be careful not to overmix!**
- Add a little oil in your pan and remove excess oil with paper
- Caution, use LOW heat
- Carefully add your mixture into the pan
- Add drops of water here and there and put on the lid fully
- After 3 or 4 minutes, flip the pancake
- Add drops of water again and close the lid again, wait 3 – 4 minutes
- And we’re done! Enjoy it with your preferred toppings
